CLUB REPORTSCelebration weekend at Invergarry August 2009
On arrival at the bothie, several members walked to the Invergarry Hotel for a fine evening meal.
Our celebration dinner was as excellent as ever - all kinds of starters and main meals. We had one big miss this year - the musicians. Allan on spoons and Jim on the "moothie," were missing so we made do with Brian's song sheets. Donald tried to help with a copy of Ring of Fire but no one could get the CD player to work and Phil led the community singing. Our special celebrations this year were the 60 th birthday of Maureen, Bill, and Brian; 70 th birthday of Elma and Margaret. Isobel and Alison were celebrating their birthday that day. Hazel, who is expecting her first baby in November, looked great. This will be the first grandchild of the club as Brian and Isabel, Hazel's parents, met at the club.

August comes round again and so it's was time for our annual celebration.
For the fourth
year in a row, we went to Invergarry. We have gone there so often as everyone
likes it and it suits our party very well. The bothie is a good size, well
equipped and we can have it all to ourselves. Elma, Chris and Allan decided
they preferred the luxury of the B & B and the big
breakfast.
Saturday morning dawned and outside the weather was as bad as it has been
all month. Undeterred by this, two groups set out to climb Beinn Bhan, Mary
and Davie to climb Gairich and Brian and Bill another local hill. The rest
of us went on low level walks but all of the parties came back wet and caked
in mud.
